Kos Galatsis received his B.Eng in Computer Systems (First Class Honors) and his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (RMIT), Australia. During his PhD program he resided at the University of Brescia, Italy for 6 months and also undertook several collaborative assignments at the University of Michigan and at the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, China. After working at RMIT as a Project Manager for 1 year he contracted for Teledyne Technologies (USA) as a principal development engineer leading their efforts in military IR gas sensor research. Kos Galatsis went on to receive his MBA from the LaTrobe University, Australia majoring in IT Management. Currently, he is the Chief Operating Officer of the Center on Functional Engineered Nano Architectonics at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Kos Galatsis's interests include digital electronic design, semiconductor sensor design, and nanoelectronic materials and devices. He has 18 international journal and over 50 international conference publications. In 1999 Dr Galatsis was awarded “Best Postgraduate Technical Paper in Australia” by IEEE Australia and was recently awarded an "International Research Prize" from the Australian Academy of Sciences.
